Everyone loves masquerade! This is a great opportunity to try on the role of any hero and perform in a new image. Especially fancy costumes like kids - when else have the chance to reincarnate in your favorite character? If your child is going to have a holiday for which a carnival costume is required, it is worth taking the choice responsibly. The market today offers a lot of options for such suits, and the holiday will be remembered by the child for a lifetime, so it is important not to lose the choice.

Most often, children wear carnival costumes at the matinee for the New Year. Everyone, perhaps, has photos of the tree in the image of a snowflake or a bunny. Preparing for such a holiday has always been incredibly exciting - it was necessary to choose an image, think it over and collect, sometimes, from scrap materials. Today, it is not necessary to do this, as the stores are presented with masses of options - who should be the child at the masquerade. Let's figure out what to choose.

Features

Despite the fact that there are a lot of options for children's carnival costumes, some of their features can be identified. First of all, these are the details of the costume or what it consists of.

  • Attributes. This is not a whole suit, but rather a hint of it. For example, if the child is in the image of Harry Potter, you can purchase a robe and a magic wand, and pants and a white shirt will harmoniously complement the image itself. The same applies to the image for the girl, for example, butterflies. In the store you can buy beautiful shiny wings, which are attached to any elegant dress. Supplement will be a bezel headband, and the outfit is ready! It also includes all sorts of weapons - saber for pirates, shields and swords for the brave knights, pistols for the police.
  • Makeup. Some carnival costumes are immediately sold with a makeup kit, because some characters have bright skin color (for example, Shrek or Bart Simpson) or other features. Make-up is also needed to create an animal costume - mustache and strips for a cat or a tiger, spots for a Dalmatian. For the role of a princess or fairy, glitter or decorative rhinestones may be useful, for the role of a robber or a superhero - you will need to draw courageous scars.
  • Clothing. As a rule, these are costumes of recognizable characters that are difficult to sew on their own - Spiderman or Superman, fairy Winx, Little Mermaid, Snow White and other heroes. Their clothes are unchanged and easier to buy ready-made outfit than trying to collect an image of similar things.
  • Full image. This, so to say, is a “turnkey outfit”, to which you only need to pick up shoes, although there are options where this is the key moment - for example, Puss in Boots. Such costumes greatly simplify life, because parents do not need to cook anything, just smooth the outfit and anticipate the holiday with the child.

Another feature of masquerade costumes is that they can not only be bought, but also rented. This is quite convenient, given that the children are growing up, and the next year the baby can not only stop loving the hero, but also simply grow out of last year’s carnival costume. All sorts of agencies solve this issue. But there is also a minus - the baby will not be vigilant to follow so as not to tear and not spoil someone else's thing, which means if the likelihood is still paying the full cost for the outfit. To spoil a holiday for a child, endlessly pulling it up, worrying about clothes, is rather silly.

Variants of fancy dress

Fancy dresses can be divided into three categories: by age of the child, on the occasion of the celebration and by gender - for a boy or a girl. We will understand what options exist.

For the little ones. If your child has barely learned to walk, or even hold a holiday in your arms, this is no reason to refuse the suit. The occasion can be any - and the New Year's holiday, and a photo session, and just a themed party. Best in this case is suit-kigurumi. This is a solid body in which the baby will be comfortable so that he will not notice that he has tried on the role of a character.

Carnival kigurumi can depict anyone - from a cute little animal, for example, a bunny, a bear cub, a penguin or a kitten to a mutipersone character, for example, a minion. There are images of superheroes for the little ones, as the sign of Batman or Captain America, Vander Vuman or Catwoman can be put on any clothing.

A curious option would be a suit that imitates a product. It will be funny to look like a baby in a mushroom or berries attire, a funny watermelon or strawberry. Parents with a sense of humor can dress up a child in a hamburger or hot dog costume.

Older kids can try on more detailed costumes. Any animal to which your baby feels sympathetic is well suited. This may be a hedgehog, holding an apple on the spines, or a fox in a red fur cloak. Boys often like the more "courageous" animals: a lion or a tiger, a bear or a wolf. Girls choose more gentle characters: a cat or a mouse, a butterfly or a ladybird.

For children between the ages of three and five years, the costumes of characters from fairy tales can also be used. For a girl, it could be Vasilisa the Beautiful or Little Red Riding Hood, the Firebird or the Swan Princess, Thumbelina or Malvina. The boy will do the role of a warrior, Robin Hood or the brave Sinbad the Sailor.

Of course, the large niche of carnival costumes are cartoon characters.First of all, Walt Disney. There may be plenty of options: charming Mickey and Minnie Mouse, funny Pluto, funny Goofy or mysterious Black cloak. Girls are crazy about "Disney" princesses: Snow White or Cinderella, Rapunzeli or Elsa. Ariel, Jasmine or Pocahontas can act as a heroine for a costume, especially since these characters have very beautiful, recognizable outfits.

For boys in the Disney world there are also characters: Aladdin or Peter Pan, Chip and Dale, one of the heroes of Winnie the Pooh.

Separately, there are heroes who love kids of all generations - from the cartoon “Cars”, “Winx Fairies”, “Paw Patrol” series, “Finding Nemo”, “Doctor Plushyova”, “Jake and other pirates”. Multipliers were able to make the images of these characters memorable and fun, so the costumes for their roles are popular.

Another trend is the costumes of superheroes and other fantastic characters. True, they prefer mostly boys. These are Ninja Turtles, Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Iron Man or Bumblebee, Wolverine or Captain America. A little advice - if you choose a costume from this category, it is worth discussing with the parents of other boys what their children will come to the holiday so that there are no identical costumes.

We will note several more categories of costumes that can be suitable both for the New Year holiday, and for any other reason:

  • Angels, Cupids and Cherubs;
  • Witches, devils and wizards;
  • Dinosaurs and dragons;
  • Different professions: cooks, policemen, or magicians-illusionists;
  • Variations for girls: Princess of the night, fairy of the dawn, star witch;
  • Volumetric suits: SpongeBob, Hulk, Transformers and others;
  • Christmas costumes: Snowman, snowflake, Santa Claus helper, elf;
  • Kigurumi Suits: Totoro, Stitch, Hello Kitty.

Tips for choosing

For children older than three years, participating in the choice of a suit is a great joy. If the outfit is not interpreted by the rules of the holiday, ask the child who he wants to be. As a rule, parents know which characters the child likes most and will be able to choose the right costume.Manufacturers vigilantly follow what is fashionable in children, so there should be no problems with buying. The only thing worth paying attention to is the time of purchase. The new year is the hottest season in terms of carnivals, and if you go to the store late, it may turn out that all your child’s favorite characters have already been bought.

It is also important to consider the age of the child. Children of two or three years should be comfortable in a suit, too voluminous or hot outfit will not suit this baby, so it is likely that in a few minutes he will want to undress. You should not choose costumes for kids, where something is worn on the head - during the game the child can drop the jewelry or it will prevent him from enjoying life.

When choosing a suit for an older girl, it is important that he takes into account the features of her figure. Do not buy too tight fitting, with a large cut on the chest or back. Also, narrow long skirts that hamper movement will be uncomfortable. It is important to remember that the girl wants to look beautiful, so you should not advise her too modest and discreet costume - carnivals are created to create spectacular images!

With the boys in this matter easier. Reliability is more important to them than the look of a suit. If a character who chose a child has a hat, a sword or other paraphernalia, it must be there, otherwise the kid will lose his mood.

The quality of the costume is also important. Despite the fact that a child can wear it only once in a lifetime, the requirements for these clothes are the same as for any other clothing. First of all, it is important that the synthetic material does not cause allergies in the child - it is better if such a suit has a natural lining or you can sew it yourself. Choosing a fancy dress, you should not put the appearance more important than comfort - so, fur outfits “will help” the baby to sweat, and too close or cumbersome will prevent to take part in fun active games.
