Bracelets and chains, which are made of precious metals (gold and silver) - the most ancient type of jewelry. Most often, these ornaments are complemented by religious symbols (for example, a cross), pendants and pendants. "Bismarck" is one of the most durable and long-lasting weaving, which has long deserved national love due to its durability.

Story

Weaving "Bismarck" is considered one of the most complex and beautiful. The fashion for such chains appeared in Russia during the “dashing 90s”. We all know these massive gold chains, attributes of influential people: gangsters, “new Russians”. However, those days are gone, and now these decorations are not perceived so categorically. To this day, chains with weaving Bismarck remain very popular in the jewelry market.

Initially, a rather rough weaving “cardinal” (also called “Bismarck”) was invented for chains that weighed more than one hundred grams. “Bismarck” is associated by many with men's jewelry, but on the female neck or arm this weaving looks quite aesthetic. Jewelry made according to this technique, are famous for their strength and durability.

Manufacturing

The peculiarity of this weaving is that it is created entirely by hand. With the help of machine installations, only one type of Bismarck is made — double (consisting of two rows of weaving).

Most often for the manufacture of "Cardinal" is used gold wire of small diameter. It is twisted in the form of a spiral, and then the parts cut from it are screwed into each other. This creates a kind of tightly intertwined chain. Less common is the Bismarck of silver.

There are two main types of weaving:

  • Handwork. Handmade jewelry can boast of high quality, exclusivity and durability. Bismarck, which is made to order, is quite expensive, but wearing a piece of jewelry made by the master especially for you is much more pleasant.
  • Machine binding. This type of binding makes it possible to produce chains of any size and complexity. At the same time, the cost of such models is significantly lower than the price of handmade products. To make a very thin chain will be difficult even for the most skilled craftsman. If anyone takes up this work, the price of such a decoration will be too high. Thanks to technological production, anyone can purchase a Bismarck chain of absolutely any size and weaving.

It is worth noting also hollow chains. As a result of a technologically complex process, hollow tube ornaments are obtained. They weigh a little, but do not possess special durability. Such chains are often torn, and it is impossible to repair them after damage.

However, hollow chains have their advantages. First, they are more original than full-fledged in execution. Such products have a lot more weaving options. Secondly, the low price allows you to purchase not one, but several chains at once. They can be combined. Thirdly, hollow chains often look larger than full-weighted (with the same weight).

Models

Types of weaving differ in the form of links and their decor.

There are a number of models of chains:

  • Flat Bismarck or trickle. The shape of the links is close to the circle. This product is quite voluminous. Thanks to the technique of execution, it remains quite easy. Elegant and inexpensive (due to the low consumption of materials) model.
  • Semi-volume. The thickness of the chain is equal to the width of one link (which resembles an irregular oval in shape) or slightly exceeds it.This type includes “spring-like Bismarck” consisting of ring-shaped elements.
  • "Python". It is a triple Bismarck (three rows of thin links intertwined with each other). Such openwork weaving has other names: “American”, “Italian”, “Pharaoh”, “Caprice”.
  • "Royal". Ornate weave a large number of rings. This chain is also called "Byzantine", "Roman", "round", "imperial".
  • "Fox's tail". The links are located "herringbone", they are directed in different directions from each other.
  • "Arab Bismarck." Weaving of two, three or more rows of round links.
  • Moscow Bismarck. The ends of the links in the chain are cut and soldered, making the product look perfectly smooth.

In addition, there are chains and Bismarck bracelets with various overlays: diamonds, semiprecious stones, and cubic zirconias.

Right choice

A large number of techniques allows you to create completely different models of jewelry. You should know which types are suitable for women, and which - for men, because some products look elegant and delicate, while others are rather rough.

Male models are considered to be “royal” (or round) “Bismarck”, “Moscow”, “spring-like”. These types of jewelry with heavy large links look good on the representatives of the stronger sex, emphasizing masculinity and strength.

Perhaps the best female version of weaving - "fox tail". Such a chain emphasizes female fragility. Many models are universal, they are suitable for both genders.

Universal species include:

  • "Arab". This weaving looks exquisitely both on the female and male neck, differing only in the thickness of the links.
  • "Python". With proper selection, this model will be perfectly combined with business suits.
  • "Byzantine" ornate pattern will decorate absolutely anyone.
  • "Stream", "flat Bismarck" - the most affordable option for jewelry lovers.

Choosing any decoration, you need to rely on your own taste. It is only important to remember that the main thing is a sense of proportion. Harmonious and balanced image will always look stylish.
