The phrase "boiled jeans" is likely to cause confusion among young people born on the border of the XX and XXI centuries. So that the ignorant would not have questions, why you need to cook jeans and how then you have them, and this article will tell.

What is jeans-boiled?

In the years of perestroika, the “iron curtain” with the West began to slowly rise, and fashion was one of the first to slip from there. Denim clothing with various prints became very popular among the perestroika youth, but, unfortunately, was practically inaccessible. Therefore, the main mods and fashionistas were those who themselves or whose relatives on duty were abroad, because from there you could bring melanoded jeans for that period of time.

But not everyone had access to overseas counters. Very many imported items were sold from under the floor, since officially the resale of items purchased abroad was called speculation and was punishable by the Criminal Code. Illegally, it was possible to purchase almost everything, including very fashionable then-highlighted jeans. But only a few could afford them because of the fabulous cost.

The desire of girls from the 80s to be beautiful was so strong that they were looking for different ways to look stylish and fashionable for little money. One of such inventions is jeans-wigs. Having carried out simple manipulations with chloride bleach and usual blue jeans (by the way, bought also from speculators, but much cheaper than those lightened), it was possible to get the most fashionable model of denim pants, which in appearance was very difficult to distinguish from the real thing.

A great advantage when digesting jeans was that the amount of white streaks and their intensity could be controlled independently during the boiling process, and even if the desired result could not be obtained the first time, the whole procedure could be repeated with a different bleach concentration.

How to make at home?

According to contemporaries of jeans, the process of digestion is quite simple, and it is quite possible to carry it out on your own in the kitchen.

If you want to do such a thing on your own, despite the fact that today you can easily buy any model you like in stores, clearly follow the instructions below.

So, the procedure for cooking jeans conditionally can be divided into three parts:

1) Preparation

2) Cooking

3) Completion

Let's analyze each step in sequence.

Training. For self-production of cooked jeans, you need:

  • Blue jeans
  • 7 liters of clean water
  • 1 cup whiteness or other concentrated bleach
  • Enameled basin, pan or bucket of at least 10 liters
  • Wooden clips, clothespins and tight elastic
  • Plastic or wooden stirrer (a regular strong stick will do)
  • Rubber gloves.

All the listed items must be clean and do not give off paint when in contact with whiteness or boiling water.

Pour water into the enamel container and set it on fire. While the water boils, prepare your jeans. First of all, they must be dry and clean. The product must be chosen from a real denim, since the presence of impurities in cotton fabric can give an unpredictable, and often deplorable, result.

To obtain a specific print, there are various ways of folding jeans when cooking. Vertical stripes can be obtained by pulling the leg tight elastic band; for large streaks and spots gins should be loosely twisted and secured with a clip, and for thin strips Twist should be especially tight. An interesting print will turn out when using ordinary clothespins - pinch them on the fabric, and in the process of cooking at these places beautiful light stars form. Their size depends on the width of the clothespin.

Cooking. When the water begins to boil, you can begin the process of cooking. Since we are dealing with chemicals, there is a risk of getting burned, so be sure to wear pre-prepared rubber gloves. Measure out 250 ml (faceted glass) whiteness using kitchenware not used in the kitchen and pour it into hot, but not boiling, water. When boiling solution in it, you can omit jeans. Remember that the desired pattern will be obtained only with the correct twisting of jeans, so you should very carefully put them in a container without damaging the attachment.

The duration of cooking jeans - 15 minutes. But this figure can be corrected up or down, depending on the desired intensity of lightening the fabric.

In the process of boiling do not let the jeans rise to the surface. To do this, use a wooden spatula or special tongs for a washing machine-semi-automatic.

Completion. To achieve the desired level of clarification of the fabric, jeans should be taken out of the pan and allowed to cool slightly. Then it is necessary to thoroughly rinse the bleach out of the product - for this, rinse is carried out first in warm and then in cold water. Only after all the chlorine from the jeans comes out, they can be washed in an automatic machine. When washing, it is advisable to use a fabric softener to soften the fabric and give it a pleasant aroma. To finally get rid of the smell of chlorine, jeans should be dried in an open and well-blown place.

The process of "cooking" jeans, you can see in the next video.

What to wear?

When there were boiled jeans, there were no particular questions about what to wear them with - they were worn with what was. Today, the situation has changed dramatically, and now these exclusive hand-made jeans can be included in a variety of ensembles.

The best option would be a combination of boiled jeans and tops. Since jeans are not business clothes, bright shades will be quite appropriate. But the color of the bottom in this image is combined, so the top should be selected monophonic. The exception is a shirt with a checkered print - they, in combination with jeans, will create a vivid image of a modern girl, free from stereotypes in fashion.

Jackets and jackets will look great as outerwear with jeans. with fitted silhouette. They will help to focus on jeans and stretch your figure, visually adding a few centimeters to your height. The same effect will give high-heeled shoes.

Remember that shoes and a jacket in combination with boiled jeans should be a neutral shade and without patterns to avoid overloading the color in the image.

In fact, good sausages are made a little differently.

For this you need a washing machine, a solution of potassium permanganate in a conventional sprinkler, hydrogen peroxide, quite a few cubes of foam plastic, the jeans themselves and a large basin. And the technology is as follows.

Soak pants in warm water, and as time goes on, you need to spread these pants on the table and form folds with your fingers, as if squeezing jeans.

After that, wet pants are placed in a washer and dried with a centrifuge.

Next, dried pants with fixed pleats are poured with foam cubes sprinkled with potassium permanganate. It is necessary that it rotates in the drum of the washing machine without water for 10-15 minutes. After that, the pants are placed in a strong solution of pyrohydrol and after developing the scuffs they rinse in running water. The result is super.
