A cauldron is a metal pot having a semicircular shape of the bottom part. The presence of this feature of the form necessitates the arrangement of a special furnace. It differs from the usual wood-burning stove in several constructive moments. Depending on the need and location, The kiln can be built from refractory bricks or made from scrap materials: a gas cylinder, car rims, a metal pipe.

How to make a furnace of gas cylinders?

The hearth for heating a cauldron from a gas cylinder is a portable device that can be installed in any convenient place and even be used in field conditions. For its manufacture will need the following materials:

  • gas bottle;
  • fittings;
  • grate bars;
  • Door hinges;
  • other related materials.

The process of assembling the furnace from a cylinder will involve the following consumables:

  • cutting discs for grinders;
  • grinding wheels for angle grinders;
  • sandpaper;
  • drill;
  • welding electrodes.

The minimum set of necessary tools:

  • welding machine;
  • Bulgarian;
  • electric drill;
  • hammer;
  • measuring devices (tape measure or ruler);
  • other related tools.

The gas cylinder is installed on its base. At a distance of 60-70 cm from its bottom, a mark indicating the place of the cut is set. A circular line is drawn through the mark. It is important that it be drawn strictly parallel to the surface on which the balloon is mounted. Along this line, with the help of a grinder and a cutting wheel, a balloon wall is cut. Upper sawn off part is removed.

Vertical triangular cuts are made in the cutting edge of the cylinder. Their number and depth are determined by the individual design of the future furnace. These cuts are necessary to maintain stable thrust after installing the cauldron on the furnace. The absence of traction holes will create a vacuum inside the furnace, as a result of which the flame will extinguish. A rectangle is marked on the side wall of the balloon. Cutting is performed along the contour line of the rectangle. The resulting hole will serve as the entrance to the future firebox, and the cut piece will be the door of the stove.

The rectangular segment of the cylinder wall is welded to its original place using hinge loops. On the inner side of the furnace hole opposite to the hinges, a piece of metal is welded on the inner side.

Its location should be such that it prevents the door from opening inside the container and at the same time would not interfere with loading firewood into the firebox. For convenience, a handle is welded to the surface of the door, which can be made of reinforcement. So that the door can be securely closed, on its edge adjacent to the body of the container, equipped movable valve.

Cut down below the main hole hole for blew. Its width should correspond to the width of the furnace opening, and the height should not exceed 10 cm. The metal rectangle, obtained after the cut-out, is used to arrange the door, which helps to regulate the amount of oxygen entering the inside of the furnace.

To the door blew fully functional way, it suffices to use one hinge. No need to equip the valve.

Between a furnace door and a blower the grid-iron is established - a grid that prevents the fuel material from entering the ash collector. For arranging the grate inside a round furnace, reinforcement rods can be used, the length of which will vary depending on the round shape of the internal space of the balloon furnace.

For the arrangement of the grate, it is better to use valves with a diameter of at least 20 mm. This is due to the presence of high temperatures inside the furnace at the time of its heating. Valves with a smaller diameter can quickly burn out.

At a distance of 15-20 cm from the top edge of the furnace U-shaped handles are welded, with the help of which it will be possible to transport this furnace. These handles are made of fittings with a diameter of 12 mm. To ensure the stability of the cylinder furnace, special struts can be welded to its lower part. The number of spacers is determined individually, depending on the operating conditions and the size of the cauldron to be installed on the hearth.

The furnace for a cauldron made by own hands from a cylinder is a multifunctional device. It can be installed in the country, and with some modifications used as a barbecue, where you can roast meat. The balloon furnace can be used as a heating stove installed in a garage or some other utility room.

Homemade brick device

The brick brick kiln is a device whose manufacture is associated with the greatest number of difficulties. Before starting the assembly of this furnace, it is necessary to prepare a sufficient amount of materials and an appropriate list of tools. The material constituting the basis of such a furnace is a brick. It is recommended to use its fireproof equivalent, although the use of ordinary bricks is also allowed.

The furnace for a cauldron made according to this type is stationary and cannot be moved to another place. In some cases, its chimney is equipped as part of the main blast chimney. In this case, the stove can serve not only as an economic device, but also as an interior decoration. At the preparatory stage, design manipulations are performed. Drawings are prepared in which the dimensions of all the main parts of the structure are marked: the top plane of the slab, the firebox, the blower, and the chimney openings.

First, prepare the base of the furnace - the foundation. The stronger the base, the more stable the future oven will be.that will exclude its curvature under the pressure of the weight of the cauldron, as well as under the influence of shrinkage processes. On the foundation, the outer walls of the furnace and its inner circular part are laid out simultaneously.

The presence of circular masonry is mandatory, since in its absence the gravity of the filled boiler will fall exclusively on the cast-iron surface of the slab, which can lead to its destruction.

The internal diameter of the circular masonry should correspond to the diameter of the hole in the slab. Due to this, the weight load will be distributed evenly, and its main part will fall on the brickwork. In the process of laying bricks must comply with all the rules of this laying. The presence of ligation of elements between themselves, the primary erection of the corners (if such are provided by the construction) is obligatory.

It is important to pay attention to the quality of the seams between the bricks. The factor of heat retention inside the furnace and the degree of their gradual burning will depend on this. The solution is stacked evenly with a margin. The excess part of it can be removed by subsequent manipulations.

It is recommended to use refractory mixtures as the main solution, as this will prolong the service life of the furnace. Alternatively, clay solution can be used. However, it is necessary to choose the right clay, the quality of which will comply with the standards of the furnace industry.It should not be too greasy or contain excessive amounts of sand and other impurities. At the stage of laying the outer wall of the furnace, the following elements are laid:

  • doors blew;
  • grate bars;
  • fire door.

These items are purchased in specialized stores. They should be made primarily of cast iron. Any other material is unsuitable for installation in the oven. This is due to the fact that elements made of other materials quickly burn through, and it is very difficult to repair the stationary furnace device.

The furnace of this furnace must correspond to the size of the cauldron that will be installed on the stove. Its internal space should be sufficient to load a certain amount of firewood, and the distance between them and the bottom of the boiler to promote efficient combustion of the fuel material.

Design options from rims

A simple version of the manufacture of a furnace for a cauldron is a model made from several wheels. In this case, only discs from stock wheels are used, since the material from which they are produced, and their shape are most suitable for these purposes.

Two disks are installed on each other. In this case, the front side of one disk should be facing up, and the similar side of the other down. Due to this arrangement, between the discs a free space is formed, sufficient to fill it with fuel material. In this position, the discs are welded together. It is important that the line of their contact is well cooked.

In the side of this design, a furnace hole is cut out. Given the special design of the wheels, there is no need to equip a wide hole. Its sufficient size will be that which allows one log to be placed inside the furnace.

As a supplement, iron knobs can be welded to the disk body to help hold the stove during transport. If necessary, this stove is equipped with struts that do not allow it to overturn during operation.

Kazan furnace from wheels can be used in the country, in the yard or in hiking conditions. Thanks to its versatility, other cooking appliances can be installed on it, for example, a disc harrow, converted to wok.

Making the furnace from a metal pipe

The modification of the furnace from a metal pipe is similar in design to the furnace made from a cylinder. In this case, additional refinement of some elements is required. The diameter of the pipe must be sufficient to install the boiler on it and also allow it to be held securely. The height of such a furnace is determined by the individual needs of the person who will operate it. This parameter determines the convenience and efficiency of use of the device.

Since the pipe section does not have a bottom part, it is necessary to equip it independently. To do this, use a flat circle, cut from sheet metal. The thickness of this part must be sufficient for resistance to pressure of the mass of the combustion product - ash. No bottom in this oven allowed. In this case, there is no need for arrangement of the blower. It is enough to drill several holes at a height of 10 cm from the bottom edge of the housing.

Approximately in the middle, a grate is equipped with firewood. To ensure the best burning of the fuel material, a furnace door is equipped, the principle of attachment of which is similar to that for which a furnace door made of a cylinder is attached. On the edge of the upper edge of the tubular body, air-supplying recesses are cut out, which are necessary to ensure stable thrust. The presence of such cuts is required.

This method of making a stove for a cauldron is one of the most problematic, since it requires a large number of modifications.Another problem is finding a pipe of suitable diameter, which is rarely freely available. According to most users, the most practical and easy to manufacture, is a furnace made from a gas cylinder.
