Well-groomed legs are the pride of any woman. A neat pedicure, delicate skin of the heels speak not only about cleanliness, but also about the health of its owner. Psychologists say that the parts of the body that are hidden from the eyes most of the time determine the level of a woman’s love for herself.

Answers to the questions: is your walk easy, is casual shoes comfortable, does the skin on your feet ache, according to experts, often lie in psychosomatics. Western psychologists echo eastern yoga. In the traditions of the East, the feet are the link between the Cosmos and the Earth, and also serve as an indicator of the direction of man.

If your legs are unwell, then it is worth considering whether you are walking in the right direction of life.

Problem area

The feet of the bodies daily experience the burden of the whole body, especially if, by virtue of the profession, one has to constantly walk or stand. In women, the case is exacerbated by tribute to fashion - high-heeled shoes make legs slim, but often we forget about the increased load with which they are subjected.

The human body created by nature is so arranged that the epidermis layer of the foot is constantly subjected to pressure, compression and even abrasion. The metabolic processes in the upper layer of the epidermis, which harden or begin to flake, are disturbed. Frequent satellites of the legs are hardened skin, dryness, painful cracks and calluses.

Several factors cause dryness and flaking of the skin. The most unpleasant of them is fungal or infectious skin diseases. There can not do without medical methods of treatment, and should be approached to the problem very seriously.

But there are more common and adjustable factors.

  • Lack of vitamins. Especially in the spring.
  • Tight shoes. As well as shoes with heels, in which the foot is in an unnatural position.
  • Exposure to ultraviolet and road dust, which is typical for the summer period and open shoes.

To help your feet and avoid skin troubles allows systematic foot care, including nourishing creams, peeling, relaxing baths. Modern cosmetology offers a wide range of spa treatments and foot care products. Not lost their relevance and recipes of traditional medicine of our great-grandmothers.

One of the most common and effective methods of foot care at all times was an exfoliating foot mask.

    Features and properties

Exfoliating masks are one of the types of peeling, which can be carried out both in the beauty salon and at home. Peeling is a cosmetic procedure for removing dead skin cells. Translated from English literally means "remove the husk." In the process of peeling, the pores are cleaned, the blood flow is stimulated, the cells are saturated with oxygen and begin to actively regenerate.

Foot masks are designed to clean the epidermis, soften keratinous skin, remove dead particles. Dry skin plates on the feet not only give the feet an untidy look, but also block the access of oxygen and inhibit the formation of a new layer of the epidermis.

Regular use of masks will significantly improve the condition of the feet and their appearance; subsequent procedures will no longer require deep cleaning.

A feature of exfoliating foot masks are active substances that can be applied on the sole, but not on other parts of the body. For example, the composition of some masks can cause a burning sensation even on coarsened heels, therefore it is categorically contraindicated to apply them on the delicate skin of the face or hands.

There are many recipes for peeling masks that you can do with your own hands. To do this, fit the usual products that are on the shelves of any hostess. Some ingredients from our grandmothers' recipes can be found in pharmacies or markets. This applies to the masks of fresh and dried herbs, fruit pulp and plant petals.

But also the modern beauty industry offers all kinds of cosmetics and whole sets for home peeling.

Masks can be alternated, try each time a new one, until you find the recipe that is right for you. Do not worry if you cannot immediately choose the right one, because each of them will have a positive effect in any case.

    How to do?

Foot masks should be applied gradually, stretching the complex of procedures for several weeks. In the process of removing the upper layer of the epidermis, microcracks may form, and behind them inflammatory processes in the damaged areas of the skin. To avoid this, cosmetologists recommend arranging a peeling procedure for the legs no more than once a week, and conduct the entire course for 2 months.

Therefore, if you are going to put the legs in order by the summer - do not delay, start in the spring.

Do not strive to overdo the mask for more than the allotted time - an instant effect cannot be achieved at once, but it is quite possible to damage or burn the skin.

To achieve the maximum effect, but not to damage the skin of the feet and not to experience subsequent discomfort when walking, you should follow certain rules for masks of all types. The rules are to limit the time and sequence of stages of the entire peeling procedure.

    • The mask is applied only on clean feet, slightly wet after washing. A hot foot bath with the addition of herbs or sea salt will significantly increase the effect of the mask. From hot water, the legs will evaporate, and the pores will open, due to which the product will better penetrate under the top layer of skin. In addition, the baths relieve fatigue and swelling.
    • If there are painful injuries, deep abrasions or cuts on the feet, then it is better to refuse masks until complete healing of wounds. The active substances contained in the mask mixture may corrode already damaged skin. In this case, you should be especially careful about the purchased peeling products.
    • After applying the mask on the feet should wear plastic bags or medical shoe covers. This will prevent contamination of the surfaces of household items, and allow you to move during the procedure. Now on sale there are special socks-masks, which are already filled with the necessary composition for peeling - they should be simply put on. Socks significantly simplify the whole procedure, but the reviews about them are ambiguous.
    • Maintain a mask strictly according to the time specified in the instructions of the drug or prescription. As a rule, the process of interaction of the exfoliating substances with the skin lasts no more than 15-20 minutes. This time is enough to absorb the mixture and its effective action. It is not recommended to hold the mask over the prescribed time - aggressive substances can damage the skin, and emollients - will not give beyond what they have already given.
    • After completing the procedure, the feet should be rinsed under warm running water., if necessary, treat problem areas with pumice. Wipe your feet dry with a soft, absorbent towel. Apply cosmetic oil or nourishing cream.

It is advisable to walk in cotton socks for a few hours after the procedure so that the skin calms down.

    Recipes

Exfoliating masks do not lend themselves to precise classification, and each woman chooses a product to her own taste by familiarizing herself with different options and a combination of ingredients. However, there is a factor that combines the most popular and time-tested means for coarse skin of the feet. These are mixtures containing one of the components:

    • glycerol
    • clay
    • paraffin.

On their basis, you can make masks with the addition of various oils or vegetable components that nourish the skin with vitamins.

    • Moisturizing mask with glycerin. Glycerin is an excellent emollient for painful cracks on the heels and pads. It is worth a penny drug, but the effect is colossal. Pure glycerin is not used, it is diluted with oils, vinegar, honey or fruit pulp. The medicine for cracked heels is a simple mixture of equal proportions of glycerol and 9% vinegar. For one session, a couple of tablespoons is enough. The mixture is rubbed into the hardened places, wrapped with plastic wrap, wear warm socks.

In such a "bath" you need to take at least three hours, the best option would be to leave the mask for the night.

    • The mask with clay is used for deep peeling, it cleans the skin, removes the top layer of dead cells. A couple of tablespoons of clay is brewed with boiling water to soften it and allow to cool. Mixed with a few drops of olive oil and massaging movements applied to the feet. When dried, the clay will begin to draw in the extra particles on the sole. To enhance the effect of the foot, it is desirable to massage through socks. The mask should be kept for 15-20 minutes, then rinsed with a sponge (porous sponge made from natural material).
    • Paraffin mask. Paraffin in the peeling acts like clay - it collects dead skin on itself. Raw materials for the mask can be purchased at the pharmacy or grate ordinary candles. The wax is melted to a liquid state in a metal container, allowed to cool to a tolerable temperature. In order not to burn the skin, you should check a few drops on the wrist. If the mass is not too hot, drop both feet into the container. It is necessary to lower several times, during this time the paraffin will begin to cool and form “socks” on the feet. Next, we wrap our legs in a film and hold for 15-20 minutes, after which we remove the mask with dry hands.

As in the previous version, you can gently massage your feet through the film.

    Tips and tricks

Exfoliating masks will have an effect only when regularly performed and in combination with other procedures. Do not neglect daily foot creams, weekly soothing baths. The feet, although hidden from view most of the year, nevertheless require the same care as a face or hands.

Pay special attention to shoes. It should not restrain movement, rub or have a squeezing effect. In too narrow shoes, the foot is in an unnatural position, the blood can not circulate normally, and this threatens not only corns, but also serious diseases.

If high-heeled shoes are your casual shoes, then try to free your feet as often as possible, letting them relax and “breathe”.

Regularly care for your feet, because of their health depends on your easy gait, beauty and femininity.
