Dish dryer is a necessary thing in everyday life. When choosing it is important to pay attention not only to its operational and aesthetic qualities, but also to size. In modern conditions, people have the opportunity even in small kitchens interesting to beat the kitchen interior and place multi-functional wardrobes. All this must be borne in mind when choosing a dryer for dishes.

Standard options

As a rule, most dryers are designed to be placed in the upper cabinets, and therefore their size is dictated by furniture. Depth often remains the same - 22-25 cm. The standard sizes include the following sizes:

  • 500 mm;
  • 600 mm;
  • 700 mm;
  • 800 mm.

800 mm

If the dryer is mounted in the lower cabinets, its width is also determined by the parameters of the tank, but usually it is smaller than the width of the “upper” variants. So, in this case, dryers with sizes of 400, 500 and 600 mm are mainly offered. Sometimes 300 mm copies are available.

If the depth of the module is greater than the standard, then, as a rule, the free space is filled with built-in appliances. It is also worth considering, choosing the size of the dryer.

Non-standard options

Shops and furniture companies offer unusual solutions for the device of the vessels. In this case, the dryer can be angular and door. Features angular thumbs, cabinets and doors determine the dimension of the product. The difference between two different sizes can be 50 mm, while for standard models this difference is 100 mm. Therefore, sizes 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 550 and 600 mm can be referred to non-standard versions. Naturally, it all depends on the specifics of the kitchen.

There are other interesting solutions that can perform not only their direct functions, but also be part of the interior. These include, for example, miniature vessels, which are sometimes called troflex.

These designs are also single and bunk. Household departments offer such options with and without pallets, some of them are equipped with cutlery compartments. There are open wall models, they can be standard and non-standard sizes. These products are suitable for those who do not like the accumulation of moisture in a closed module, as this leads to a rapid deterioration of the material.

Thus, there are many models on the market with classic and unique sizes, and when choosing a built-in dryer it is important to consider only the depth.

How to pick up?

Before you start choosing the dryer of the right size, you need to consider a number of points.

  • To pick up the design in the cabinet 40 cm, you need to choose a corner copy. If you take a direct product, then you will be able to place only a couple of plates and mugs, the corner option is more spacious, and therefore will allow to put twice as many dishes. If you mount two shelves, it will look too massive.
  • For cabinet 50 cm 2-stage or corner dryers will do. But beforehand make sure that there is enough distance between the two tiers to accommodate plates of large diameter. Sometimes it is more convenient to put such wide plates in a separate place than to select a dryer specially for them.
  • The most preferred option is a 70 cm design. It is convenient and allows you to place quite a lot of plates. It is recommended to give preference to models with a removable bottom, so that when cleaning there are no problems.
  • If a 80 cm dryer is selected, then it must be a product of very durable material. Such an instance allows you to place a lot of dishes, and under the weight of several dozen plates a wooden flimsy unit can collapse.

As soon as the option that is suitable for the size is chosen, it is worth considering other features of dryers of different sizes before buying.

  • At home, carefully measure the distance inside the cabinet from one wall to another and always the depth. If this is a 2-level dryer under the plates and cups, then keep in mind that there should be a distance of 30 cm between the tiers, and 7 cm between the lower level and the tray, then the flowing water will be fully collected.
  • Do not place two levels in such a way that the plates dry on the top and the circles on the bottom. This is contrary to sanitary and hygienic standards, as water from the dishes will drain into the mugs. Moreover, with a high position of the lockers, it is more convenient to get a cup from above than a flat plate.
  • Be sure to choose a model with a tray to collect moisture. Prefer samples with the most capacious pallet - these are more functional options. It is more convenient to use a removable tray; you can always drain the accumulated water and wash the structure. Recently transparent plastic specimens are actual, they are easy to wash, and they are not deformed under the influence of moisture.
  • Choose chrome-plated stainless steel products. Such structures have a longer service life.
  • Returning to the size, it is worth noting that the width of the unit provides for the width of the walls of the cabinet, which means that in fact it is 32-36 mm smaller. Therefore, selecting a vessel, it is worth examining the marking and information about the thickness of the chipboard for which the specimen is intended.

The nuances of installing dryers of different sizes

During the installation of the dish dryer, it is important to follow a few simple rules.

  • The distance between two tiers should be at least 300 mm.
  • If this is a 1-stage dryer for plates, then it is recommended to mount it in the middle of the cabinet. This will ensure the placement of large dishes.
  • Keep in mind that each instance has its own strength, and overload threatens with rapid failure and destruction. So, the 40 cm construction allows to place no more than 12 plates, a 50 cm dish bowl - about 15 plates, 60 cm - 18 pieces, and 80 cm - 28 plates.
  • When installing a dryer of any size, remember that you will need space under the pan. The gap between the pallet and the lower level should be 7 cm.
  • Consider also that the cabinet doors should close without effort, the dryer and the dishes in it should not interfere.

In many homes relevant dryers for corner upper cabinets. In appearance, the design resembles a frontal traditional dryer, but it still has an additional full-sized part.

Inside the cabinet instance is mounted in the shape of the letter "G". This option is good because it allows using the angular space of the cabinet in a high-quality and full-fledged way, that is, the traditional frontal design would allow to place the minimum number of plates in the corner cabinet. However, when using an angle dryer, access is slightly complicated by a narrow facade. So, with the dimensions of the corner cabinet 60x60 cm, the width of its facade is only 40 cm.

From all the above, we can conclude that for different dimensions of the cabinet suitable dryers of certain actual sizes:

  • 40 cm - 35x25 cm;
  • 45 cm - 41х25 cm;
  • 50 cm - 46х25 cm;
  • 60 cm - 56x25 cm;
  • 70 cm - 66x25 cm;
  • 80 cm - 76x25 cm.

For sliding bollards, specimens up to 60 cm inclusive are suitable, but 80 cm dryers are designed mainly for stationary cabinets. In fact, the specifics of installing a standard two-tier dryer does not depend on the size of the structure itself, but it is important to take into account other factors related to its parameters. Classical drying has a depth of 28 cm, respectively, it is suitable for a cabinet of the same or larger size. To make all the cups fit easily, It is important to measure the height of the tallest glass, and take this distance into account when installing the upper tier. Do not forget about the gap, which should be equal to 20 mm.

It is important to take into account the growth of the landlord, who will most often use the dryer. At this point, you should not dwell in detail, and so it is clear that for a short person, the upper tier should be mounted at the minimum allowable height, and for tall people, the circles should be placed at the height of the raised hand. Another important dimensional criterion for installation is the height of the cabinet itself. So, despite the popularity of such structures, it is not recommended to install bunk drying in a cabinet with a height of less than 480 mm. It looks awkward and unaesthetic.

When installing the product in the cabinet, there must be an exhaust opening inside so that unpleasant odors and moisture do not collect, and the dishes are well ventilated. If this moment is not provided in the cabinet, then a pair of small holes can be mechanically drilled to maintain a steady flow of air.

Modern models of kitchen sets provide for the hinged cupboards without a bottom, that is, in fact, the bottom is the pan, where the drops drip from the dishes.

In the next video you will find the installation of a built-in dryer for dishes in the kitchen cupboard.
