Trash bin - a mandatory attribute in any economy. It is used to dispose of small waste. The design and characteristics of garbage cans are constantly being improved, and with each model it is becoming increasingly difficult to make a rational choice. And sometimes the beauty of the product pushes its functionality into the background. There are a huge number of options on the market: with and without lids, made of metal or plastic, with ventilation holes and completely closed.

The choice will depend on your needs, wallet capabilities and last but not least aesthetic preferences.

Materials

There are quite a lot of different materials that manufacturers use to make a bin:

  • metal models;
  • plastic;
  • from sheet metal strips;
  • chrome steel;
  • steel with powder enamel;
  • brushed stainless steel trash can.

The last two - the most expensive materials, but also the most durable.

The forms and volumes of the urns are also different; here, upon purchase, take into account the planned place for determining the trash bin and the approximate regular volumes of garbage that are “in use” in your family.

But absolutely all of them are light in weight and do not require special care. Almost all models provide a cover so that the smell of garbage does not spread around the room.

Where to put?

Even before choosing the perfect garbage bin for the kitchen, you need to think about where it will stand. This is not the last question, since the model of the bucket and its volumes will depend on the location. In many modern apartments, trash cans are placed in a cabinet under the sink. Some hang the bucket on the door of the headset again under the sink. In the houses you can meet another “tradition” - a bucket is placed in the far corner of the kitchen.

How to choose?

When everything is clear with the dislocation, it is necessary to deal with the type of urn that must be purchased.

So, according to the characteristics of the tanks have:

  • covers with and without levers;
  • removable containers or several internal departments;
  • sliding system or without it.

You can choose a suitable waste bin from the huge number of options offered by manufacturers, but we recommend always stopping the choice on buckets with lids for practical reasons, despite the model you liked. And their great variety.

  • Baskets. As a rule, they are acquired for recycling paper products or dry waste. They are very cheap and effectively complement any interior.
    • Plastic buckets with a lid. The lids are completely different: a spinner lid or a pendulum lid, and maybe you will like a simple bucket with an opening lid, rather than rotating or swinging, as in the samples above. But it is worth warning that if the kitchen bucket needs to be touched to open it, then this is not the most suitable option for the kitchen. After all, the garbage will be thrown out mainly from the process of cooking or washing dishes, and this is unacceptable in working with food - you constantly have to wash your hands after each contact with a bucket, interrupting cooking or washing dishes.

    Plastic is a very cheap material, and the volume of such buckets can reach 40 liters, so it’s easy to pick up a bucket for any purpose. Plastic does not scratch the floor and the surface, and despite the not very "rich" appearance, it remains a favorite in choosing buckets.

    • Ballot boxes with a floating or hinged lid. Are made of stainless steel, have the most different volumes. You can purchase a 6-liter bucket, as well as a large 60-liter tank!
    • Trash cans with lever. Such models have a special pedal on which you need to step foot to open the bucket, so this is an outdoor option. This bucket will not work if there are elderly people in your family or members of your family who have back problems — you need to bend over to such an urn to throw out the garbage. For the sake of justice, it is also worth saying that when such a trash can is “wrapped” in a plastic bag, this makes it difficult to open the lid, and the lever cannot help lifting it, forcing you to touch the bucket with your hands.
    • If you need trashcan to stand on the table, then take a look at table buckets, which are most often equipped with a lid spinner for ease of use.
    • Retractable bucket with airtight lid. These buckets - a find for hostesses. Most often they have a low cost, and they are very durable, do not take up much space in the kitchen, do not catch the eye. The container is placed in a module on wheels, which extends from under the place where you will put your trash can, and back.

    Care

      Regardless of what type of bucket you get, you can be sure that with proper care it will serve for many years without losing the original look. Just follow a few simple guidelines.

      1. Empty the urn regularly - it will save the room not only from an unpleasant smell, but also save from the possible invasion of insects or pests.
      2. Periodically wash and dry the bucket.
      3. Buy trash bags by the size of your container. They greatly simplify waste disposal.

      Take into account these simple moments, and you will have a useful acquisition in the kitchen that will help you to get rid of the garbage and will facilitate home building.
