The dog is a friend of man. Everyone knows this from the time of his distant childhood. Hearing this expression, few people will think about its meaning, and, most likely, will miss "past the ears", as something banal and insignificant. Meanwhile, these simple words accurately reveal how the relationship between man and dog should be built. The story describes a lot of extreme situations when four-legged friends saved lives of people in a literal sense.

There are many breeds of these smartest animals that are very different from each other in purpose, behavior and other biological characteristics. First you need to decide what the dog is for: security, dog shows, decorative options, escape from loneliness or something else. Then you need to familiarize yourself not only with the external data of the selected breed, but also with the conditions of detention, character, ability to train, possible pros and cons of the future pet.

Only after that you can go to the nursery. Miniature Pinscher is one of the breeds often chosen by dog lovers.

Short description

Tsverg in German means “dwarf”, “gnome”, hence the name of the breed - miniature pinscher, miniature pinscher. These are miniature service dogs, the appearance of which strongly resembles Doberman Pinschers. As a result, the nickname mini-Doberman was firmly attached to them. Miniature Pinchers as a breed appeared in Germany more than 300 years ago (the first mentions date back to the 15th century). Pure breeding began in Germany at the end of the XIX century, the breed received an approved standard.

Miniature pinchers are distinguished by a strong proportional physique, attractive appearance, and graceful posture. These small dogs weighing only 3-4 kg (up to 6 kg) and growing at the withers of 25-30 cm can live 12-15 years. Long strong limbs and always a tucked up belly characterize the harmony of the breed. The hair is short, hard, the hair is thick, there is no developed undercoat, so in cold weather such dogs should be walked in special dog clothes (sold in pet shops).

Character, temperament

The small size (not more than the average cat) and the tiny appearance of the tsvergs can create the illusion of fragility and cowardice, but this opinion is deceptive. These are very mobile, brave, selfless dogs, ready to protect the owner anywhere and everywhere.

They have a guard instinct, easily learn official skills, can be successful guards and watchmen.

The nature energetic, temperamental, self-confident, fearless, without hesitation, they can start a fight with a stronger and larger opponent, the outcome of which has to interfere with the owner. But the epithets "aggressive, flighty" is clearly not about them. With the right upbringing and proper training, these are balanced and friendly pets.

Virtues

The peculiar character of miniature spinners will not suit all people for a comfortable life together, therefore the advantages and disadvantages of the breed must be studied in advance. Significant advantages:

  • miniature sizes make it possible to keep miniature pinchers even in small apartments;
  • good health without hereditary diseases;
  • possess high endurance, easily accompany the owner during long walks over long distances;
  • have a delicate ear and impeccable scent;
  • the nature of the coat (without undercoat) and the absence of visible molting ensure that there are no significant traces of wool and hair in the apartment, which is important for people prone to allergic manifestations, and also greatly simplifies the care of the animal and the dwelling;
  • the smell of dog meat does not spread; it is enough to sweat the pet to treat with moist sanitary napkins and wipe dry with a cotton towel;
  • picky in nutrition, but you need to carefully monitor that the feed is balanced and high-calorie, as the tsvergs are very mobile and quickly spend a lot of energy;
  • have a developed protective instinct, can successfully cope with the protection of an apartment or a small house plot;
  • respond well to training, learn to understand and execute commands at the level of large service dogs, quickly get used to obedience;
  • completely devoted to the owner, constantly “monitoring” the situation around him to the threat of external danger;
  • accustomed to the tray, which eliminates the need for walking during bad weather or extreme cold.

disadvantages

Of the minuses are the following:

  • too high activity (in some cases hyperactivity);
  • desperate cockiness of character, the ability to fight with relatives at the earliest opportunity and any conditions of fight, despite the superior forces of the enemy;
  • they make harsh sounds of loud piercing barking, which is far from pleasant for everyone to hear;
  • the tsverg is mistrustful to strangers, to the guests of the host, if he suddenly suspects something wrong, he can easily tear the guests' clothes, or even bite the leg - the host needs him “eyes and eyes”;
  • does not tolerate loneliness: a dog left unattended is able to arrange a real massacre in the house, ruin the furniture upholstery, chew on shoes and wires;
  • barks loudly, resists and can bite, if you have to take away from the dog some object that he liked, so there is a constant need to ensure that everything that is valuable or dangerous is in an inaccessible place;
  • the need for high physical exertion to neutralize energy, which requires long time and significant walks;
  • genetic predisposition (from the ancestors of the rat-catchers) to the digging of the earth, so it is necessary to watch vigilantly on walks so that the blooming flower-bed on the plot or the green plantings in the park in an instant do not turn into ruts and potholes;
  • The tsvergs are smart, but cunning dogs, mostly obey the owner if they feel his authority and a “firm hand”, the rest of the household are poorly obeyed, willful, try to manipulate, which is a significant drawback of the breed, as in life there are situations when the owner has to leave for a long time (business trip, vacation trip, illness, something else).

These hard moving mini-Dobermans are suitable for comfortable possession of active, energetic people with a strong character and leadership inclinations. Homebody with a measured life and people with poor health should not buy miniature pincher.

The decision to have a dog is a very important step. We must thoroughly weigh the pros and cons, so as not to have to bitterly regret it.

It is painful to see on the streets of homeless animals, hungry, unkempt, sick, looking at passers-by with bewilderment - is there a favorite owner among them. The eyes of these unfortunate people without words express human suffering.

      To prevent this from happening, you need to think in advance about the main aspects of a pet's stay in the apartment and take into account the attitude of all households to pets, you need a well-weighed decision - emotions and spontaneity are unacceptable here. Need to understand that the dog is not a toy, but a living creature that has the right to a decent, happy life. In response, a four-legged friend will repeatedly delight the owners with high (according to dog experts) intelligence and various talents, and will again and again prove their loyalty.
