Marriage - an exciting solemn moment, which does not leave indifferent any present at the ceremony. A wedding is a holiday when everyone is happy and good. But newlyweds, heroes of the occasion, should remember that now they are a single whole, a new unit of society. Although many people say that the stamp in the passport is just a formality, nevertheless, the family is considered a family only after a formal marriage. Newlyweds are issued a marriage registration certificate.

As it was in the past

Centuries ago, people performed the sacrament of marriage in a church. This was very responsible, since not only the relatives present, but also the Lord looked at them. At least, those who marry together believed in this piously. They appeared before God, swore an oath of love and loyalty.

In Russia there was no marriage registration in the form as it is now, no official documents were issued. All data was recorded by hand. Those who marry and had no idea that there should be some special form.

Over the years, the marriage registration procedure has improved, the wedding has become desirable. Most couples still prefer the classic procedure in the registry office. They are issued a state-issued document that is legally binding and proves the existence of a family.

Difference from other documents

Almost all documents confirming this or that civil status have the same format and are printed on stamped paper. The marriage certificate has a pleasant pink color, this is its main difference from all others.

Each document issued in the registry office has its own distinctive color. This was done so that the registrar and the owner himself could only by what he looks like, without even reading, determine which document they had in their hands.

Who can get

Delving into antiquity, it is worth noting that in Russia only people of different blood type could marry. Even the godfathers, the godparents of one child, were forbidden to get married in church. The spouses should have free status, not be in another marriage. If the wedding was preceded by a divorce for unproven reason, as well as the age difference between the newlyweds for more than 15 years, the church could refuse to marry.

In modern society, combining marriage should reach 18 years. Only adults can start a family and receive an official document. If it happens that a young bride becomes pregnant, then with the consent of the parents and upon the provision of relevant information from the doctor, the registrar can make concessions and arrange the marriage.

As for the difference in the age of the bride and groom, the modern law refers to her quite loyally. Absolutely in any age difference a woman and a man can be legally married.

Marriage is registered only with the mutual consent of the future husband and wife. Many consider the registrar's question about the consent of marriage to be formal, but there are, fortunately, such rare cases when someone from a couple changes his mind right in the ceremonial hall.

Where is issued

The certificate of state registration of relations is issued only by the relevant organization of the civil registration certificate (ZAGS).The exceptions are small cities and towns in which there is no registry office, and the powers of state registration are transferred to local governments.

Forging a certificate form is quite difficult. These forms are printed in printing houses of Goznak, have a high degree of protection.

  • The serial number is unique to this document. By this number you can easily verify the authenticity of the form.
  • Unique design. On the stamped paper you can see watermarks and microtext, which indicates the state authenticity of the document.

The original document must have an impression of the seal of the state body on which its name is viewed. The signature of the registrar, partially overlapped with a seal, should also be clearly visible. If the seal and signature are separate, then the document can be considered invalid.

If the form is fake, then you can see all the nuances with a magnifying glass. Under the magnifying glass will be noticeable blurred contours, fuzzy printing. If you bring the form to an ultraviolet lamp, then on it, as well as on money, fibers should be highlighted. Print size must also be appropriate. If there is a difference in the size of even half a millimeter, then this may indicate a fake.

Content of evidence

Before registering their relationship officially, the future newlyweds fill out a statement on the basis of which a marriage certificate will be issued. In the application, the spouses indicate the full information about themselves, their passport details, indicate whether the name of one of the spouses will change. According to the law, not only the wife can change the name, but also the husband has the right to take the wife’s name. If the newlyweds decide to leave their former names, it is also not forbidden.

The official civil status document contains the following information about spouses:

  • their personal data: name, date of birth, citizenship and passport details;
  • date of marriage and record number of the act;
  • the names of these spouses, which are assigned to them after the formalization of relations.

A marriage certificate, like any other official document, has a series and a number. Optionally, the form may indicate the nationality, but this paragraph is not mandatory.

If the marriage registration certificate contains information that is not provided for by the law, then such a document may become invalid and be declared invalid.

All data in the completed form must be authentic and entered into it only on the basis of official documents. According to the data specified in the certificate, you can easily check whether the marriage was actually registered.

Along with the certificate, the newlyweds receive a stamp in their passport on the page describing their marital status.

Terms of use of the document

A marriage registration certificate is an official document that must be carefully kept and used. Many wonder whether it is possible to laminate a document so that it does not tear, hesitate or get dirty. The answer is obvious - to do it is strictly prohibited. After lamination, the certificate will be considered invalid. On the reverse side of the form, as necessary, marks are made, and on a document wrapped with film it cannot be done.

If you are worried about the safety of a valuable document, then place it on a special cover, thanks to which the certificate will be completely safe. There are many options for the design of covers for every taste.

Replacement

It happens that the marriage certificate is subject to replacement. The reason for this may be damage and the presence of unreadable information on the form. The basis for issuing a new document is also the loss of the original. In order to re-receive the certificate, the spouses must contact the authority at the place of residence or any other if the address has changed during this time.

The deadline for obtaining a new document depends on the authority to which the applicants applied. If this is the same registry office in which the marriage was registered, the form will be issued immediately. Otherwise, the registrar will have to make a request to the archive, and the spouses will have to wait some time.

To re-receive the document you will need to fill out an application indicating the reason for applying for a certificate.
