That is why light, strong slates are an indispensable part of children's wardrobe. The history of their appearance, models and features of this shoe will be discussed in our article.

Appearance history

Shales appeared relatively recently. Previously, people used ordinary sandals, and only in Japan and other Asian countries wore shoes, very reminiscent of modern shales.

The shale received wide popularity and popularity in the middle of the last century. Almost at the same time as other world manufacturers in the USSR, they started producing their own rubber slippers. The plant for their production was located in the town of Slantsy, from which their name came.

Today, slates are made not only from rubber, but also from plastic and other materials. They owe their popularity to unsurpassed lightness, practicality and convenience. They perfectly complement any set of beach clothes, they can be worn on a hot summer day and with casual wardrobe. They are worn in the city and in the country, in nature and in the pool.

Features

Slates are footwear intended for walking on sand or gravel, therefore basically they can be met on the beach. However, light, non-slip slates are an indispensable element of clothing for the pool. In the end, they can be worn at home instead of slippers.

A distinctive feature of this shoe is their lightness. That is why rubber, polyurethane, leather and other materials with extremely low weight are most often used for the manufacture of slates.

As a rule, they are worn on their bare feet, they are not hot, the most open style gives comfort to the foot and does not allow sweating. They are easy to put on and take off. They are great for children of different ages.

Soaked shales are not deformed, so you can walk in them not only along the coast, but also on wet grass or on the bottom of a reservoir. Slates are very practical: they do not require special care or the use of special cleaners and detergents. Slates for a long time retain their original appearance without any changes in color or shape.

Models

Classic slates have the most concise design - a flat sole with a lintel holding the foot. Most often slates are made of rubber, but also there are combined models with a lintel made of plastic, textiles, silicone, etc. The jumper can have a different shape, length and thickness.

The slates themselves are very comfortable, but they are not designed for constant wear, running, jumping, etc. The foot is practically not fixed in them, therefore injuries are possible with active movements, especially if the foot is wet.

More feminine and elegant models are made of leather or suede. They can have a small heel or platform, can be made in beautiful color combinations, be decorated with all sorts of prints and decorative elements.

Slates for girls differ primarily in colors. It is usually brighter. These can be shales of red, pink, orange, blue, green, violet, yellow and other colors and their combinations.

Artificial flowers, lintels of contrasting color of materials, applications, rhinestones, various weaving, beads, etc. are used as decorations. And the design of the shale itself can be more elegant.

Slates for boys are made in a more relaxed, restrained color range (blue, black, gray, purple, etc.). As a decoration, a print or appliqué depicting a cartoon hero, a fairytale character, a favorite toy, an animal is used.

Another place where shale is indispensable is the swimming pool. Slippery tiles, as a rule, have a rough, non-slip surface, however, shale in the pool are required.

It is, after all, just hygienic. The model for the pool can be the simplest, have a calm coloring and not be supplemented with decorative elements.

How to choose?

Despite the fact that slates are not used constantly, but occasionally, their choice should be approached as carefully as the choice of other children's shoes.

  • Material. Rubber slates, of course, very comfortable. But today you can pick up models made from even lighter materials. And for the child every extra gram of clothing or footwear, of course, matters. It is best to pay attention to the shale of polyurethane. The material is very light, safe, non-toxic, not afraid of water, durable, durable, resistant to abrasion.
  • Another option: a combined model. For example, the sole may be polyurethane, and the upper part of leather or textile. Such slates look more elegant, recalling rather open sandals.
  • Clasp. For young children, it is best to select models with fixation. It can be a hook-and-loop closure or slates with a special elastic band.
  • The size. Do not forget that the shales - shoes are very unreliable in terms of fixing the foot. Therefore, the size should be as accurately as possible chosen under the leg of the child. Too narrow will reap and cause inconvenience, too wide - just fly off their feet.

It is best to buy slates, like other children's shoes, in specialized stores, such as sports.

This will give a guarantee of quality for slaps, the safety of the material from which they are made, durability and comfort in use.
