They were the progenitors of the bedrock dogs of the Land of the Rising Sun, including the Shiba Inu. Strong and strong animals helped people hunt and drove wild animals away from their homes. According to historical information, the Siba Inu’s homeland was used to hunt small and large game. Due to its miniature nature, the animal deftly maneuvered between high thickets and expelled game for the host.

Character

All Japanese breeds of hunting dogs have an independent character. Shiba Inu is no exception. They perceive the owner as a partner and do not particularly strive for submission. The peculiarities of raising puppies of this breed are precisely in accepting their independence and showing respect for them.

As soon as the breeder succeeds in establishing a “contact” with a small “stubborn person”, you can begin training. This process will be methodical and consistent, but it will definitely bring its “fruits”.With the right approach, the Siba-Inu will grow up a faithful friend and brave defender.

For the Japanese dog own territory is inviolable. Do not violate its boundaries and specifically deduce the animal "to the emotions." In the apartment, it is desirable to create a special enclosure for a four-legged friend, where he can relax and play. This character trait of the Siba Inu is well manifested in the protection of a private house.

The dog instantly feels "outsiders" in the territory and "give a voice." As for friendship with small households, the Shiba Inu are quite patient. But excessive children's activity towards the pet is undesirable. In response to too obsessive behavior, a pet may growl and even bite slightly.

Dogs of this breed are very clean. In rainy weather do not explore the puddles and prefer to stay away from the dirt. Shiba Inu patiently treat other pets and do not show aggression to cats.

Maintenance and care

Representatives of this breed are quite unpretentious. However, without proper care, the health of the animal is in danger. Dog hair must be regularly brushed. One procedure per week is enough. Naturally, during the molting period, the dogs take care of the fur more intensively. The owner must stock up with a brush of medium hardness and a puhoderka.

Bathe the black Shiba Inu as contaminated with the use of special shampoos. They will add softness and shine to dark wool. Also, animal fur is treated for parasites. Maintaining ear and eye hygiene is the key to a healthy pet. Cotton swabs moistened in a special solution are suitable for this procedure. To care for the pet's oral cavity, pastes and powders are used, which can be easily purchased at pet stores.

Food Japanese dogs must be balanced and varied. Natural products and industrial feed are suitable for Shiba Inu. The first include:

  • lean meat, boned (except for pork);
  • cereals (buckwheat, rice and oatmeal);
  • offal;
  • vegetables and greens;
  • sea fish;
  • eggs (1-2 times a week).

As for the “purchased” feeds, premium goods are suitable for this breed. Also there are special lines for Japanese dogs. Puppies eat 4–5 times a day, adult dogs need 2 servings per day. A pet should not give sweets, fatty meat and river fish. Drink should be fresh.
