The beagle breed belongs to hunting dogs. It is believed that she hails from England, since it was there that first began her selection. But even in ancient Greece, long before that, there were hounds that resembled beagles. At the moment, these animals are used as guards, but they can be excellent friends. Therefore, they are increasingly being acquired as pets.

What factors influence development?

Owners of this breed should be aware that these animals are very difficult to train. Beagles are stubborn, they need a master with a strong hand and character. The main time of development of these dogs is from birth to six months. In the same period, you need to hard to train. If you miss the moment, in the future you will not be able to catch up, the animal will be already out of control and will bring a lot of trouble. The development of the beagle is influenced by the following factors:

  • correct maintenance of the mother during the intrauterine development of puppies;
  • sufficient care for newborn babies;
  • fresh air access;
  • good affectionate attitude;
  • suitable temperature in the room where the dogs are kept;
  • quality nutrition.

You can not feed these animals sweet, fatty, smoked. This will affect the general condition of the dogs as a whole.

As an incentive, they can be served with apples and carrots. It is also necessary to carry out antihelminthization in a timely manner and ensure that all the necessary minerals and vitamins are sufficient in the diet. The deficiency will affect the entire body of the dog, including the enamel of the teeth. An indicator of good development will be the presence of forty-two teeth in a seven-month-old puppy.

So that the young ones are not lagging behind in height and weight, in the first month babies with underweight are applied to the back, more filled nipples of the mother. And also, if there are more than six newborns in the litter, care should be taken to artificially feed them. Infant formula in this case is not suitable, as it contains sugar, you need to choose food in accordance with the recommendations of the veterinarian.

After an absenteeism from the mother, you should also take the advice of a specialist. Beagles can be fed with special food, or with natural products. With any choice next to a bowl of food should be a container of clean water to avoid problems with digestion and stool, on which the height and weight of the dog largely depend.

A set of extra pounds is harmful for puppies, it is an extra load on their still weak bone system.

The owner needs to control the composition of the feed, the frequency of feedings and regularly weigh and measure your pet.

Besides, you must take care of your coat, check your ears and cut your claws. If you follow all the standards of beagle care, this dog can live about 15 years of happy life. There are rare cases when these dogs live longer than this period.

Description of development by periods

From birth to 3 months

In the first month, the puppy gains weight about four times its mass at birth. During this time, the young are very similar to each other, regardless of gender. Differences will be visible only by two months, when puppies will look like a small copy of their parents.

By three months, the young should gain about 6 kg, and their length at the withers will reach 30 cm. Normally, girls may be slightly smaller than boys throughout their development time.

3 to 6 months

At this period of time, the main development of the skeletal system, chest, hind and fore limbs occurs. By half a year, the weight is doubled compared with the weight of a three-month-old kutenka. Growth reaches 35 cm.

From 6 to 12 months

Dogs get their proper weight, height reaches a maximum. In the year the dog grows up to 40 cm, the female - up to 38 cm. Within 12 months the beagle must acquire all the skills of the development of an adult animal. At this age, it is already a full-fledged formed dog. The growth of girls sometimes ends even earlier, with the advent of the first heat.

Psychologically, individuals of this breed are also already formed by this time and must comply with standard norms not only in physical development, but also in behavior. If the dog is properly educated, it will not be cowardly and aggressive.

Raised beagle has a stable psyche and is able to obey his master.
