One of the attributes of a well-groomed woman is neat nails with a good manicure. This is especially true for the fair sex, whose work involves frequent manipulation of the hands. Unfortunately, not everyone can boast strong healthy nails with a beautiful shape. Many women have certain problems with the growth rate of nails, they are short, brittle and exfoliating. In some cases, neither better varnishes, nor medical masks or baths help.

In these situations, nail extension with artificial materials can help. Such a manicure is strong and more durable, and a large number of various decorative materials allows you to get both the effect of natural nails and unusual bright design.

Term socks extended nails

No professional master will be able to predict how much the extended nails will be able to hold. This period depends on many factors, which include not only the level of master and the quality of materials, but also the vital activity of the woman herself. Most often clients of salons are recommended to carry out correction every 2 weeks. Not everyone can afford it, because the procedure takes at least 2 hours, and you also have to pay a considerable amount for it. Some clients manage to pass without correction 3 or even 4 weeks after the build-up, but most have to remove the material at home due to chipping or deformation of the material.

There are two main types of nail extension: on tips and on forms. To date, the first option is already a thing of the past, as less comfortable and more harmful to nails and skin. Special plastic tips were glued to the nail plate and to the skin around it, which had a negative impact on the fabric. This manicure did not look natural, was rather fragile and short-lived, resembling ordinary glued nails.

The second option, on the contrary, does not lose its relevance to this day. In this case, the artificial nail plate is formed from a plastic material on a special paper form installed near the edge of the nail. After forming, the material is baked under ultraviolet rays, which makes it hard. Ready nail is filed to the desired shape and decorated with decorative coatings and accessories.

At various fashion shows and special contests manicure can be found building unusual materials. This can be resin, cloth or special varnishes. Guarantees that such a manicure will last at least a couple of days do not give even the most courageous masters, preferring more traditional methods. Specific timing of socks exist for gel and acrylic coatings.

Gel

The structure of the gel is very similar to the structure of the nail plate, which allows the tissues to breathe and absorb moisture, even after baking the material. This manicure looks as natural as possible, it is smooth and even. When choosing quality materials and an experienced specialist, the first detachment can appear only in 3-4 weeks. And the term of the socks depends on the growth rate of the woman’s nail and ranges from 4 to 5 weeks. The only drawback of such material is the difficulty of removing at home.Unlike acrylic, it will have to be cut in parts or use the services of a professional.

Acrylic

Acrylic coating usually does not last as long as gel because of its less dense structure. However, every year manufacturers of such gels put on the market products of ever higher quality, which makes it possible to increase the period of wearing acrylic nails. Due to the high porosity and fragility of the material, the longest period of wear is a month. But most often the nails require correction in 2–3 weeks.

Unlike gel, such a coating is easier to remove at home, using foil, cotton pads and special liquid. To do this, it is necessary to wet the pieces of cotton with solvent, put them on the nail and wrap everything in a thick layer of foil. After 15–20 minutes, the coating is easily removed with an orange stick or toothpick. At the same time, unlike gel, acryl is a strong allergen and can cause irritation and inflammation on the nails and on the skin. Before you build up at home or in the cabin, it is better to test for an allergic reaction.

What affects the strength?

There are many different factors that affect the quality and durability of the coating. All of them can be divided into several groups, depending on whether they are external or internal.

Individual features of the client

The durability of both gel and acrylic manicure depends primarily on the growth rate of the nails of the client. The faster the plate grows, the sooner it is necessary to go for a correction or completely remove the coating. Correction is required not only for the sake of aesthetics, but also for the artificial nail to be attached to a larger area.

In the same group can be attributed the thickness of the nail plate, its evenness and health. Layered fabrics are worse bonded with the coating, forming internal voids, which contributes to a more fragile artificial manicure.

Quality of materials and procedures

If the master or salon saves on materials, you should not expect miracles from building. It is best to choose the offers of the average price category, ignoring too big discounts. A low price may indicate the inexperience of a manicure specialist or low-quality materials.

Drying time, coating thickness, nail treatment before and after the application of the material - all this directly affects the period of wearing artificial nails. In the case when a woman prefers to build independently at home, she needs to take a couple of lessons from a professional or learn several workshops on the Internet.

Environmental impact

Even simple weather conditions can affect the gel or acrylic coating. For example, winter frosts somewhat shorten the period of socks on extended nails. Especially if the woman does not wear gloves. With strong blows, the coating can crack, for example, by knocking nails on the keyboard keys when working at a computer. Washing dishes with your hands, washing clothes, hiking in the pool or sauna - any prolonged contact with moisture and cleaning agents has a negative effect on the gel and acrylic.

Is it possible to extend?

If the individual characteristics of the nails are almost impossible to change, then the environmental impact and the quality of the procedure can and should be controlled. There are several rules that, if followed, will maximize the life of the artificial turf.

  • Do not lay too much of the free edge, otherwise the nail will quickly break or begin to sag.
  • Before applying and correcting manicure, it is necessary to refrain from contact with fatty and oily substances for at least one day. And the gel and acrylic better lay down on a dry skim plate.
  • After a manicure, you should not go to the sauna, solarium or swimming pool for 2-3 days. And too long contact with water and hot baths is undesirable.
  • All household chores will have to be done in thick rubber gloves so that cleaning products and brushes do not damage the coating. It does not cost anything to scrape and pick with extended nails, since there is a tool for everything.
  • Cracks in the nail can appear with a sharp temperature drop. Going into the heat from the cold, you should not immediately wash your hands with hot water or take a mug of hot tea. It’s best to just wait 5–10 minutes for your hands to warm up.

Caring for artificial turf is quite simple; any nourishing hand cream will do. You should not do various acid masks or baths for hands, as they can spoil the appearance of the coating. If all the rules are followed, the quality of materials is beyond doubt, and the manicurist knows his job, then the coating will last at least 3-4 weeks, without bringing any trouble.
