The modern market is rich in products such as toilet fresheners. Many of them are advertised, the consumer will find out about some on the review sites or on the recommendations of friends. However, few people know that an effective and inexpensive air freshener is easy to do with your own hands at home.

The perfumery industry continues to actively develop and offers a variety of flavors even for toilet fresheners. Therefore, any consumer may well choose an option that is suitable for smell, shape and cost.

Of the minuses, it is worth noting the rather high cost of the dispenser and the low versatility of the interchangeable units.

Air fresheners spray gel or water-soluble aroma oils. The devices practically do not create noise, they work on an area of ​​up to 15 m² continuously for 4-8 hours.

These are air fresheners that are triggered on a specific stimulus (turning on the light, opening the door, any movement). Their cost is high, so they are often used in commercial premises (hotels, airports).

They work constantly in contrast to aerosols and autosprayers. These can be containers with a gel or solid base, which gradually evaporate, removing unpleasant odors. They can be attached to a wall or any hard surface.

Fresheners are plates that can be mounted on the wall or the rim of the toilet bowl. They work on every contact with water. The variety of such fresheners can include special tablets or cubes that need to be thrown into the toilet bowl. There they dissolve, giving a pleasant hue to the water and cleaning the toilet bowl with each flush.

They even invented USB fresheners that work from the connectors of laptops or PCs. It is clear that this option is not very suitable for the toilet, but anything is possible.

A variety of washing compositions stand apart: gel-like, solid in the form of balls, self-adhesive discs and purity stickers. Usually they can be hung under the rim of a toilet bowl, and with each flushing of the substance they give a rich foam and aroma of freshness.

You must have paid attention to the fact that there is a mark on all means for the toilet bowl: “remove from children”, “avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes”, “not use inside”. These warnings indicate the potential dangers of these products. Of course, an adult will not begin to try or swallow such products, and for children the bright packaging and pleasant smell always remain very attractive. Therefore, it makes sense to try to make a safe, without potent substances, freshener with your own hands: economically and at least chemistry. Environmental friendliness of the funds received is not its only advantage. You can really save on household chemicals, while caring for the environment.

From the recipes below you can choose the one you like:

• essential oil refresher;
• original ball-pendant with essential oils;
• gel freshener;
• from toothpaste.

• For the simplest air freshener, take a small container with a wide neck, inside of which is placed a cotton ball moistened with a few drops of essential oil. You can take oil of lemon, grapefruit, orange, pine, rosemary, cedar - to your taste. Place an open jar near the battery, the heat will increase the volatility of the essential components. Change the fleece is enough once a week.
• You can drop the selected oil on the toilet paper hub - get a similar effect.

• In a container drip 15 drops of essential oil, add half a glass of vinegar and one and a half cups of water, mix. The resulting mixture is poured into a jar with a screw cap, in which several holes are made, and put it to the battery. Similarly, you can do with soda.
• For the suspension, mix 70 g of starch with 25 g of salt and 100 ml of water in a bowl. Put on a slow fire and cook, stirring, until the mass thickens. Remove from heat, cool for a minute, then add 15 ml of vinegar and 5 drops of essential oil. For an additional effect of purity, you can add soap chips dissolved in water.Knead by hand the resulting composition, form a ball and leave it to freeze at room temperature for 10 hours. From a piece of wire to make a hook, which will be planted on the ball. Bend the second end so that the suspension can be hung in the toilet, it will be enough for 2-3 weeks.

Toilet bowl fresheners with your own hands can be made using other available means:

• For a gel freshener in one bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of gelatin with water, in the other - 2 tablespoons of soda and salt, food coloring. When the gelatin swells, mix it with a glass of water and colored mixture, add 2 tablespoons of table vinegar and 20 drops of essential oil. Put the "jelly" in the fridge until it freezes, then cut into pieces that are placed in the toilet unit.
• Another option is to heat 250 ml of water, add 15 g of gelatin and 10 ml of glycerin, mix thoroughly. Then add a quarter of a teaspoon of cinnamon and a few drops of essential oil to the mixture. The resulting gel is poured into a container with a wide neck and left in the toilet.

• Take a tube of toothpaste with a bright mint flavor, pierce several times with a thick needle and put it in the toilet bowl. Fresh aroma is provided for a long time.
