To captivate men with its beauty is not at all difficult. This is graphically shown by Berenice Marlo in the film “Agent 007: Skyfall Coordinates”. And here without the same seductive evening dress you can not do. An outfit with a deep neckline, a game with transparency, black silk and thin lace will advantageously present a figure and turn your head to any man.

Let's step by step consider building your own charming dress in the floor with lace inserts for the gala evening.

Pattern

Transfer the details from the layout chart below onto the paper, increasing them according to your dimensions. To build a pattern, you can use the RedCafee program or model it using a base pattern.

Do not forget to add 1.5 cm for the allowances for cuts and seams, and for the hem - 4 cm.

Cutting

Cut out 2 pieces of black, well draped crepe fabric:

  • middle parts of the front (1) and back (6);
  • the connecting part of the front (2);
  • cups (4);
  • 2 oblique slips for edging the neck sections (a). The width should be 3 cm, including the allowances.

From the openwork fabric with a double-sided scalloped edge 2 details cut:

  • lateral parts of the front (3) and back (7);
  • shoulder flats at the front (5) and back (8);
  • sleeves (9).

Lift out 2 details from the lining fabric according to the layout.

Please note that the bottom edge of the sleeve should be aligned with the scalloped edge.

Flesh-colored crepe fabric in 2 parts:

  • side elements of the front (3) and back (7);
  • side elements of the lining of the front (3) and back (7).

Sewing

  • Pick and evenly distribute the edges on the central parts of the back, connecting and central parts of the front between the marks in the form of stars.
  • Cut out 2 cups of the centerpiece (10) and connecting (11) elements from the forehand. Sweep them with allowances of similar parts in front and calyx from the main fabric (black crepe).

Stitching front and back parts

  • Stitch the central parts in front. Fasten a strip of lining fabric in the attached part to secure the seam. Begin to lay the line from the marked line of the seam of attaching the cups. Then stitch the connecting parts to the front, also fixing the seam in the assembled areas with the help of lining strips.
  • Tie the elements of lacy linen onto similar elements of flesh-colored fabric and treat them as single-layered. Attach the side details to the front. Connect the side and middle parts of the backrest.
  • Stitch shoulder seams on yoke. Cut off seam allowances, sweep them together and press them back.
  • Make the edging with slanting backing cuts on the yoke.

Attaching cups

  • Sweep coquette shoulders to cups.
  • Details of crepe and lining cups fold face to face. Stitch the upper edges, securing the shoulder coquette. Cut off the seam allowances. Unscrew the lining on the face and stitch the attachment stitch allowances on it. Sweep the details of the cups on the sides and bottom. Attach them to the front, aligning the front edges near the center line of the front. Leave them lying on the front.
  • On the front of the lining fabric make middle and relief seams. Bottom before sweep. Before and lining fold face to face, stitch the top edge, securing cups. Unscrew the lining and scribble on the attachment seam allowances. Then sweep the side slices of the front and lining on the front side.

Stitching lightning

  • Sew a hidden zip to the center back cuts.
  • From the lower end of the fastener, sew the center halves.

Attaching lining

  • Attach shoulder backs to the upper edge of the backrest from transverse marks.
  • Make relief seams on the backrest lining details. Wrap the bottom of the details.
  • Sew the lining to the secret zipper tapes. Side sections of the back of the crepe fabric and lining sweep.
  • Sew side seams.
  • Ironing on the wrong side and sew manually.

Inserting sleeves

  • Cut the sleeves at the cuts.
  • Run on the sleeves seams French stitch. To do this, stitch the folded part and twist the two allowances, one by one, inside and then tack. Make sure they have the same width. Both allowances are put together, sweep and stitch at a distance of 1-2 mm.
  • Along the edges of the sleeves, make a narrow hem. Sew on buttons and make looped air loops.
  • Sew on the sleeves.

We reviewed all the steps of sewing a dress to the floor. And the most important thing that was not mentioned is the fitting. It should be done as often as possible, in the course of work to adjust the width, length of the dress and the depth of the armhole.

Good luck in tailoring with your own hands. Be irresistible!

    Evening dress to the floor should be sewn only if you have the appropriate skills. Two years ago I tried to sew such a dress as a first experience. It turned out not what she wanted. Got practice, now I will try again.
